Mike Barbarita is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Pittsburgh office of Marsh USA. His primary responsibilities revolve around client relationships and development, client service, client retention, and revenue growth. In addition, Mike is responsible for adaptation and execution of Marsh’s corporate strategy for industry, practice, and compliance plans for the Pittsburgh, Ohio, and Kentucky offices. With more than 30 years in the insurance business, Mike has managed several departments, as well as led sales and client service teams and units. He also managed several Fortune 500 accounts. Earlier in his career, Mike was an underwriter for Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and William H. McGee (now part of Fireman’s Fund/Allianz). He also served on numerous professional committees within his positions such as the Executive Committee of the Midwest Region, the National Property Practice Committee, the National Marketing Committee, the Energy Committee, the Office Head Practice Working Committee, and the Professional Standards Advisory Group.
Mike is a member of the Board of Trustees of Robert Morris University, where he earned his BS in business administration/management. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the Laurel Valley Golf Club and Civic Light Opera. In the past he has served on the boards of Girls Hope and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and is a Past Chairman for the River City Brass Band.
